History

The November Classic has a long and interesting history. The first event took place on 24th November 1968 at Millyford Bridge, organised by Merry Oak School, Southampton.

Southampton Orienteering Club was formed shortly after and the Classic became the club’s flagship event. The November Classic is the UK’s longest running annual club orienteering event.
