The November Classic Weekend takes place
on the 3rd and 4th of November 2018 

Saturday 3rd November – the Winchester City Race

On Saturday BAOC offer a Level C urban event on the challenging and intricate Winchester map, with new extension for 2018. This event is included in SEOUL, The Southern England Orienteering Urban League.

The event centre is at the Nicholls Sports Pavilion of Peter Symonds College, off Bereweeke Road, SO22 6BZ. Winchester Rail Station is just a 500m walk, as are a number of city car parks. Toilets, changing rooms, Tom’s catering and Ultrasport. The Jolly Farmer pub around the corner does food.

Start times are 12:00 – 15:00hrs. The start location for all courses is 1km from the event centre. EMIT Touch-Free system with free hire for those who have their own emit card.

Full range of urban classes. U12 courses stay within and finish at North Walls Recreation Park. All other courses finish at the event centre. All but the shortest courses visit the city centre. The U16 course does not cross any roads.

Sunday 4th November – the November Classic

The Classic, brought to you by SOC, uses one of the New Forest’s best and least used areas, Hampton Ridge, and promises to provide a top class orienteering experience. Hampton Ridge was the venue for the British Championships in 2009 and hasn’t been used for a National event since then.

Car park and event centre at Harry’s Field, Abbotswell Road, Frogham, Fordingbridge, Hampshire, SP6 2JA. Free parking on grass in a level camping field. Toilets, Tom’s Catering and Ultrasport. Foresters Arms pub next door (booking recommended for lunch).

Start times are 09:30 – 12:30hrs. 1km walk to the start and 600m return from the finish. Standard EMIT timing system.
